Once your wedding day is over, the film is how you relive it. But how does it actually get made, what do you receive, and how long does it take? Here's an honest walkthrough of the process from the moment we pack up our cameras to the moment you watch your film for the first time.
Good editing starts before the cameras are even packed away. We've been watching your story take shape all day — which moments land, which details matter to you, which music suits the feel of the celebration. In the days after your wedding we pull all of that together before we touch the timeline. A wedding film isn't just a sequence of clips; it's a story with a beginning, middle, and end, and the story is yours, not ours.
We film a lot on a wedding day — often several hours of footage across multiple cameras. The first job in the edit is to watch it all back and pull out the moments that tell your story. That means the obvious beats (the ceremony, the first dance, the speeches) and the smaller ones that only film catches: a look across the room, a half-heard joke, the way someone holds a hand during the vows.
This stage takes longer than couples expect — sometimes a full day just to select the moments that will make the final film. It's the most important part of the process, and it's why a rushed edit never feels as good as a considered one.
Once we've selected the moments, we build the film around them. That means choosing music that suits the feel of your day (we license every track properly, so your film can be shared without being muted), structuring the film so it has pace and rhythm, and cutting between cameras so the view is always where it should be.
The aim is a film that feels like the day itself — not too long, not too short, with the energy rising and falling in the right places. A good wedding film should make you laugh, cry, and remember — sometimes all in the same minute.
The exact contents depend on your package, but most couples receive:
A considered edit takes time. We typically deliver a teaser within a few weeks of the wedding, and the full film within 8 to 16 weeks depending on the time of year. We never rush a film to hit a deadline — the films we deliver in 16 weeks are better than the ones we could deliver in 4, every time.
If you have a specific reason to need your film sooner — an anniversary, a family member's health — tell us when you book and we'll do everything we can to make it work.

Yes. Every track we use is properly licensed, so your film can be shared online and watched anywhere without being muted or taken down.
We choose music that suits the feel of your day, but we're always happy to hear songs that mean something to you and work them in where they fit.
